HEAVEN ON EARTH 2007
A Conversation with Chartres About Finding Home

Facilitators:

Ellen OakEllen Oak (MM, MAR, Yale University) was born and raised in New York City. She has been: Minister of Worship and Music at a variety of churches; Director of Music at Saint John’s Seminary, Boston; and Founding Conductor of the Boston Women’s Rainbow Chorus.  Since 1993 Ellen has taught, performed, and ministered in Worship, Theology and the Arts and Andover Newton Theological School.  She is also Director of Music and Precantor at the Church of the Immaculate Conception (Jesuit Urban Center) in Boston. Ellen directs the KAIROS Vocal Ensemble; and Wisdom at Play, a body-based community practice of creativity and contemplation for renewing worship artistry, and everyday life.  She has published seven collections of music for meditation and worship. Current ventures include: The Te Deum project; Herself- A Spiritual Self-Portrait; and a vocal recital series on women mystics.  Ellen is an oblate of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration; and lives with her husband and two young children in Maynard.  For further information, please visit her website: www.wisdomatplay.com.  Ellen will be preparing and leading worship for Heaven On Earth.

 

Rev. Mary LutiRev. Dr. J. Mary Luti is the senior minister of First Church in Cambridge, Congregational, UCC.  She is also the former associate dean of Andover Newton Theological School, where she taught in the area of the history of Christianity.  For many years she has also engaged in a ministry of writing, retreats, educational programs and consultations with church leaders and laity.  Mary is particularly interested in the retrieval of old forms and practices for contemporary use, with a special emphasis on the sacraments and the great figures of the Christian heritage, the saints. 

 

Rev. Kathleen MusserRev. Kathy Musser is Associate Pastor For Pastoral Care at the Wellesley Congregational Church  (Village Church) in Wellesley MA.  She has facilitated a labyrinth ministry there for 7 years, including monthly walks, and various workshops and courses for all ages using the labyrinth as a spiritual tool. Kathy has been a participant in two Veriditas pilgrimages to Chartres, and been a co-leader for the Labyrinth Guild’s pilgrimage there as well.  Kathy and Tricia Kibbe will serve as guides and coordinators for Heaven On Earth.
